[When the feed starts, nothing can really be seen. It's dark out, time stamp stating 2:30 am. Someone couldn't sleep, it looks like.

After a couple of minutes, the PCD adjusts to the lack of lighting, and one can barely make out the illumination of Sasuke's feet with the sound of soft rain in the background. He sees the glow and picks it up, the dead grass beneath him rustling at the movement. As he moved the PCD, there's a quick flash - albeit it dimly lit thanks to the device - of a tombstone. There's one character that can be seen during this:
.

When the PCD turns over and shows Sasuke's face, it's completely blank, void of all emotion right before he turns it off.

It's that time of year again.]

[He cursed, immediately stretching his senses in the directions the other two had been running. He didn't even bother to stop running himself. It was weakened, but he could feel Sasuke's chakra down south. Another shunpo took him across Adstringendum, still cursing.

Again, he'd been played by one of those damn clones. Again, it had cost him precious time. How pathetic was that? Arguing with an illusion. Always with the damn illusions.

He stepped out of shunpo no more than a meter away from Sasuke. Seeing him on the ground was
not good.]

Uchiha!

[Could he get up on his own?]

[Oh, hell. He didn't have his haori, and there wasn't a chance that he could hold the umbrella open while in shunpo. The thermos was long forgotten, and it looked like he'd be leaving the umbrella behind too. With a frustrated grunt, he turned around and bent down, trying to shift Sasuke's weight onto his back. He'd done it before, and he could do it again easily enough. Although, admittedly, last time Sasuke had been able to get on himself.

As soon as he was on far enough - Hitsugaya's arms wrapped under his knees, his head over Hitsugaya's shoulder - the young shinigami made a beeline for the house in the opposite corner of the city. After all, he'd said he'd rather spend the night there rather than the clinic. Any turn for the worse, however, and he'd send the shinobi to Unohana-taichou in a heart beat.

For now, he just needed to get the other boy someplace warm and dry.

[Shhhh. He hadn't comprehended that yet. Someplace warm and dry just meant inside.

Once he made it to the house, he shifted Sasuke's weight ever so slightly to free one of his hands. He opened the door and made his way in without bothering to close it behind him. The entrance way would get wet, but that was the last thing on his mind. Hinamori and Matsumoto would probably still be asleep upstairs, so he stayed on the ground floor, setting Sasuke down on the couch before moving to the stairs to grab one of the blankets.

It was only when he came back with the blanket, and fully took in Sasuke's state that it clicked that the Uchiha would not get any warmer, blanket or not, so long as he remained in those sopping wet clothes. For several seconds, he stood stock still, a heavy pink beginning to overcome his face. This ... was the sort of thing he usually left to other people. But right then, there were no other people. Only him and a thoroughly soaked ninja.

After he made up his mind to get it over with, he moved with less hesitation, but that beet red hue didn't go away as he began to methodically pull at the dark blue hem, putting an arm under the other boy's back so that he could lift him off the sofa to remove the shirt ... and reveal the scars beneath.

[The bandages alone sobered him quickly enough. He didn't know what he would have done if he saw traces of blood on them. They came off next, Sasuke's lower clothing momentarily forgotten as he unwrapped the wet material and got himself an even sharper glimpse of the scars. He knew the pattern, could automatically tell what they were from. Hitsugaya was not squeamish; he was the opposite of squeamish. But the thought had never actually occurred to him that after Sasuke pulled through there would be permanent damage, and to be able to see it himself was far from pleasant. It said something that he hadn't noticed it before now. Sasuke had been hiding it.

But it didn't take long for Hitsugaya to focus himself once more. As if running on autopilot, he threw away the ruined bandages and silently grabbed a towel and some of Sasuke's clothes. When he returned he used the towel to dry off the other boy's torso and arms before pulling on a button up shirt. After that, off came the pants, but his mind still on those scars, this time there was no blush, no embarrassment. He dried off Sasuke's lower half, and zipped up a pair of pants. That'd be interesting for Sasuke when he woke up - no bandages over his scars and no underwear either. But the young shinigami only draped the blanket over Sasuke, roughing the towel through his hair once before hanging it out to dry in the (unusable) bathroom.

He didn't say a word (who would he say it to?) until several minutes later, when he came back to the main room to close the door.

...I'm sorry.

[And he promptly ducked upstairs. What had that thought been? About getting sleep? Ha. So much for that.]
