[Oh, look, it came on again. Sasuke's outside, beating rocks into smaller rocks. You know, to use for his home made training weights. It's easier to take out his frustration with everything this way than going out to do something stupid. Though, his knuckles are bleeding as he does this, so it might as well be considered a little stupid too.

He's got two piles. One of useable, small rocks, and a second of...dirt and rocks that didn't make the cut. Rocks he took things out on too much.

When the feed finally shows Sasuke's face, one can see, well. His face. He's exhausted. Tired. He's been doing this for a while, but that's not the cause of it. He hasn't slept much since Zuko was killed. Didn't want to chance the nightmares.

With another loud crunch, and another small cloud of dust flying, Sasuke lets out a curse.]

Out of rocks.

[Hitsugaya's just returning home when he sees the display on his PCD. Rather than race to Sasuke though, he forces himself to take a deep breath, enters the house at a normal pace, drops off what he's found in the kitchen, and with the same measured steps walks back outside and around the house to Sasuke's location.

He watches for a few seconds. Then, without a word, he moves forward to grab for Sasuke's wrist with the intention of leading him toward the border wall.]

Sasuke...? What're you doing...?

[Sasuke jumps a little when Hitsugaya takes hold of his wrist, glancing up at the shinigami before getting to his feet. He doesn't question it - he's too tired to question things right now. He doesn't want to tap into that side of his brain. He just wants to do something, to not feel so utterly useless.

So he'll follow without protest.]

Waiting for Zuko to get his dumbass back here.

[Then they're off to the wastes. It doesn't seem to be random, Hitsugaya appearing entirely focused on where he's heading. As it turns out, it's to a cave, and once they get close, Hitsugaya lets go.

Out of rocks, Sasuke? Fine. Eat your heart out.]

[A cave. He didn't recall seeing it before. Maybe he hadn't paid enough attention before. Sasuke walked into the cave further, several steps, before stopping to glance back at Hitsugaya.

It was a simple, silent question. "Are you sure?"]

[It's also entirely possible it wasn't there when Sasuke looked, what with the ever-changing landscape.

When Sasuke eyes him, he turns away, focusing instead on finding a spot to sit.]

[Whenever Hitsugaya looks away, so does Sasuke. Suddenly, somehow, he feels too exhausted to take his anger out on inanimate objects some more. It didn't get him anywhere in Konoha, and it...doesn't get him anywhere here.]

... Toushirou?

[For just a second, there's no response. Then Hitsugaya looks up.]

That was fast.

...When do you think he'll come back?

[Of course it would come down to this. All Hitsugaya can do is try not to seem anxious. He wouldn't be able to reassure anyone of anything, let alone Sasuke, without being confident.]

In a few days. It hasn't been long yet.

It's way more satisfying when you have someone to hit.

[It's a silent offer.

Mars is way more of a challenge than some rocks.]

[After a moment of silent, Sasuke simple sat down where he sat. He didn't curl up, didn't pull his legs to his chest, didn't do anything that outwardly showed that he was mourning and upset. Just sat there.]

...I don't know what to think anymore.

It's what I intend to do to Zuko.

[Probably saving it for him. Or probably not. He doesn't even know himself.]

[Sasuke. Please, please tell him you are not outside playing with rocks.]

So that's what you do in your spare time.

He probably deserves it.

[She's quiet for a moment.]

Do you need any help with that?

[He was trying to be productive :|]

There are easier ways to make them smaller, you know.

[He see's nothing productive about this. :|]

[It's something Hitsugaya would never have suggested before, but now sometimes it's all he can do.]
