[Zuko eyes Sauce for a long moment before shoving in some candy. He's figured out that the cards with pictures on them are obviously worth more than the others... so hey, a few queens can't be bad.]

[He's quiet as he shuffles around his cards to put them in order.]

[Sasuke's quiet as he sets down his cards without discarding any - it's a weak hand; one pair. He doesn't bother to comment further, either.

Sasuke can still trust in strangers. It's something Zuko wishes he could do. He just... can't. He doesn't. He hasn't been able to since he was a child. And, as he thinks to himself, it's really a miracle that he's playing cards with Sasuke at all. When was the last time he ever had a friend?

So he remains silent as he nudges the candy towards Sasuke.]

[He'll glance down at the candy, but doesn't move to touch it. He gives off a soft breath and takes a slight step back, running a hand through his hair.]
